Donations to Harvest Regional Food Bank are doubled now through the end of September for Hunger Action Month

Harvest Regional Food Bank has been helping feed the people of Northeast Texas for more than 30 years. They work together with local food banks, churches and other organizations to help fight the battle against hunger that wages in our area and around the country during a time when the economy forces families to choose between food and other bills.

In our area, Harvest Texarkana partners with the Community Kitchen in New Boston, Faith Missionary Baptist Church, First Baptist in Redwater and Rock Solid Resource Center in New Boston.

Harvest Regional also holds regular food box distributions around the area in which they gove out up to 400 boxes of a variety of foods to help offset hunger needs in Bowie County.

Those distributions are held at the Trail Head Park Pavilion in New Boston. The next distribution date is scheduled for November 18, 2026 beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Harvest Regional Food Bank is always accepting donations. They accept food donations at their distribution facility in Texarkana or through locally sponsored food drives.

You can also make contributions through PayPal or by check. Every donation helps a family in need in the area.

The month of September is Hunger Action Month and it brings a great opportunity for Bowie County residents to give back to Harvest Regional and have their donations doubled.

Right now, a generous supporter is offering to match your gift to Harvest Regional Food Bank dollar for dollar, up to $25,000. Whatever you give now goes twice as far for your neighbors.

But this offer disappears at midnight on September 30. Until that closing date, every $10 donated will be donated, and that $10 will help provide 50 meals for people in our area in need of assistance.

Hunger Action Month is almost over. When it ends, so does one of the best opportunities of the year to fight hunger in Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas.

They are also always in need of local volunteers.
