Members of the DeKalb Fire Department and ESD 6 spent much of their time last week going to area school districts to teach students and staff about fire safety and fire prevention.
Chief Robbie Barrett and his firefighters taught about the importance of smoke detectors, proper fire safety, stop. drop and roll and many other important aspects of fire prevention.
The department’s mascot, Sparky, was a hit with local students as he also helped spread the message about the importance of fire prevention.
Pictured are visits to Malta, Hubbard and Avery.
