He was born on November 10, 1953, to Louis and Sydnia Forsyth.

Ray was of the Baptist faith. He retired in 2009 from the Texas Department of Transportation after many years of dedicated service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Sydnia Forsyth.

Ray is survived by his two sons and daughterin- law, Harold and Robin Forsyth of Lake of the Pines, and Allen Forsyth of Daingerfield, Texas; his five brothers and three sisters-in-law, Michael and Honda Forsyth of Midlothian, Texas, Tim and Chris Forsyth of DeKalb, Texas, John Forsyth of Omaha, Texas, Mark and Tammy Forsyth of DeKalb, Texas, and Paul Forsyth of DeKalb, Texas; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He also leaves behind his special companion, his beloved dog, Buddy, who was a cherished part of his life.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cremation services are under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home.
