Jenni Hackett Lee, age 79, of New Boston, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, in Texarkana, Texas. She was born on December 1, 1946, in De Queen, Arkansas, to Robert Allen Hackett and Sue Leeper Hackett Reed.

Jenni was a retired early childhood teacher and dedicated her career to caring for and educating young children. Jenni was a member of Harvest Church TXK in Texarkana and a member of the West Bowie County Retired Teachers Association. She was proud to be part of the New Boston High School Class of 1964.

Jenni was an avid doll collector but especially loved Terri Lee dolls. She loved reading and collected children’s books. Some of her most treasured times were with her family and when her classmates got together, which they did often.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Bill Gregston; three brothers; and six sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry Lee, of New Boston, Texas; her daughter, Georgiana Laney and husband, David, of Texarkana, Texas; two sons, Jordan Lee of New Boston, Texas, and Joshua Lee of Texarkana, Texas; one sister, Becki Castaldy and husband, Rich, of Texarkana, Arkansas; and four grandchildren, Savannah Laney Minton and husband, Sean, MaKennah Laney, Driennah Laney, Breiannah Lee and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bates Family Funeral Home in DeKalb, Texas, with Reverend Tracy Harris officiating.

Interment will follow at Read Hill Cemetery in New Boston, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Bates Family Funeral Home.
