Marvin Lindy Raney, Jr, age 67 of New Boston, Texas passed away Monday, September 21, 2026 at his residence. Mr. Raney was born December 12, 1958 in Texarkana Arkansas to Marvin, Sr. and Frances Raney and graduated from Henderson State University in 1992 with a BS in Education. He coached boys and girls in various sports at Trinity Christian, Paul Pewitt, DeKalb, New Boston, Redwater, Malta, Simms and Ore City but his love was coaching Track and Field.

He left coaching in 2009 to start a new career with TXCOG as a TRAX driver. Coach, as he was called, enjoyed his many passengers and their conversations.

He retired completely in 2023. Lindy is preceded in death by his parents and an aunt, Marteen Raney.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marni Raney of New Boston, Texas, his daughters, Emilie Kate Raney of New Boston, Texas, Olivia Camille Adams of Dallas, Texas, Isabelle Kohl Raney of Little Rock AFB, Jacksonville, Arkansas, his granddaughter, Serena Elise Tapia. Also survivors include his sister, Kathy Hilkert, Nieces Ashley Miles and her daughter, Caroline Miles, Kacey Gormley and husband, Tom and son Wyatt, Meggie Hilkert and husband, Daren Carter, cousin Michael Raney and wife Karen, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Faith Baptist Church, New Boston with Bro, Anthony Tropp officiating. Private Interment will follow in Read Hill Cemetery, New Boston under the direction of Bates Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston, Texas. There is no set visitation.
