Another opportunity for the youth of our area to take to the field of sports has come in the form of the New Boston Soccer Club.

The faith based, soccer league is coming to New Boston through Tapp Methodist Church with the goal of building some core traits among the players and coaches that participate.

Those goals include developing confidence and building self-esteem while forming friendships that last a lifetime. Along with those goals comes helping the young players grow in their faith and develop strong values, all the while having fun in a safe and encouraging environment.

The league organizers are investing in the youth of the community all in the effort towards creating tomorrow’s leaders by instilling character and leadership skills into the league’s players, and by fostering a sense of community for young and old alike.

The league has teams for boys and girls ages 3 to 14, with a mission to build a Christ-centered soccer environment for every player, parent, and coach across Northeast Texas.

League play is set to run each Saturday from September 12 through November 14 with games to be played at Tapp Methodist.

The league is partnering with Miracle Legends Soccer, so there will be soccer fun and action for everyone in the community.

Tapp Methodist pastor Chase Bradfield told the West Bowie Post, “We are excited to announce the arrival of soccer in New Boston, Texas. What was formerly known as the Youth Soccer League of New Boston has been refreshed and renamed as New Boston Soccer Club, ushering in an exciting new soccer era into Western Bowie County. Partnering with Tapp Methodist Church, the league is eager to engage with the community to provide a faith-based soccer program within a Christ-centered environment. In July, we saw a glimpse of a what a high-quality soccer program can do for the city of New Boston when Tapp Methodist hosted a soccer camp, fully equipped with British soccer coaches and a diverse group of kids eager to have some summer fun.”

There is still plenty of time to register for the league ahead of the September 12th start date. Please visit us on Facebook under “New Boston Soccer Club” to stay connected and receive updates.
